Experience

I taught at Floyd L. Knight from 2008 to 2014 where I have had some wonderful experiences and was even chosen by the staff at FLK to be the “Teacher of the Year” for the school in 2014.

I began teaching art at RHS in the 2014-15 school year.  I added a Digital Arts course in 2016-17, which was also my first year as the yearbook advisor.

Bio

I attended Northwood High School, Pittsboro, N.C followed by Central Carolina Community College in Sanford at the same time as The School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, N.C. for Digital Art and Computer Animation.  Then after having my child decided to pursue teaching and attended East Carolina University; Greenville, N.C. for my degree in education.  I added Art to my licensure area last year after inspiration to get back to my love of art.

I have been a teacher at Floyd L. Knight since 2008 where I have had some wonderful experiences and was even chosen by the staff at FLK to be the “Teacher of the Year” for the school.  The experiences that I gained in working with young children and children with disabilities has grown my ability to differentiate instruction for different learning abilities and styles.  I look forward to using this experience to help educate the students at RHS.

On a more personal note, I am happily married to Mike Pinto with a middle-school-age daughter, Courtney. I am happy to say that my parents and brother’s family live close by so that I can be closely involved with them as well as my church.
