Today was an incredible day for our Uwharrie Ridge Timberwolves at the Special Olympics Track & Field event!

Our athletes showed determination, courage, and heart in every event, bringing home lots of ribbons and making us all so proud. Their hard work truly paid off—not only on the track, but in the way they supported and encouraged one another throughout the day.

We are especially excited to share that we brought home 1st place in the Banner Competition!

A huge shoutout to our amazing buddies who went above and beyond—cheering, hyping up our athletes, and standing right beside them every step of the way. Your energy, encouragement, and support made such a difference and helped make the day even more special.

We couldn’t be prouder to be Timberwolves. What a great day to be part of the Uwharrie Ridge family!

Senior Job Fair—Pathway to a Purpose!

So proud of our seniors who represented UR 6–12 at the Randolph County CTE Senior Job Fair today! They showed up dressed to impress and came prepared with resumes, ready to make strong first impressions with potential employers.

Students participated in sessions on interview skills and elevator pitches, then had the opportunity to network with 30+ employers. A great day of building confidence and real-world job skills!

On Friday, April 17, Randolph County School System (RCSS) hosted an engaging and impactful Construction Trades Day on the campus of Randolph Community College for students from Randolph Early College High School (RECHS) and Uwharrie Ridge 6–12. The event was designed to expand students’ awareness of the wide range of opportunities available within the construction industry and to highlight viable career pathways following high school graduation.

RCSS partnered with Samet Corporation to bring this vision to life. While RCSS provided the space and helped shape the overall concept, Samet played a key role in organizing the event—coordinating construction-related businesses, securing industry participation, and helping design a day full of meaningful, hands-on experiences for students.

Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to interact directly with professionals representing a variety of skilled trades, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, framing, and sanitation. Industry partners led interactive demonstrations and activities that encouraged teamwork while giving students a closer look at the tools, techniques, and daily responsibilities associated with each trade.

These hands-on experiences allowed students to ask questions, build connections, and gain a deeper understanding of the skills and training required to succeed in the construction field. By connecting classroom learning to real-world applications, Construction Trades Day helped students see the value of skilled trades and the critical role they play in building and maintaining communities.

The event not only introduced students to potential career options but also emphasized the many post-graduation pathways available, including apprenticeships, certifications, and technical education programs. Construction Trades Day reflects RCSS’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for success by providing authentic learning opportunities and strong partnerships with industry leaders.
